The Moscow Metro, opened in 1935, is the quickest way round the city, with the Koltsevaya (Circle) line linking the main rail terminals. Sheremetyevo (svo.aero) and Vnukovo (vnukovo.ru) are linked to the centre by Aeroexpress trains (aeroexpress.ru). Trains to St Petersburg leave from the Leningradsky terminal on Komsomolskaya Square, where three terminals stand together.

The Metro

Pay with a Troika card at the turnstiles; the historic stations are worth a ride of their own.

The airports

Aeroexpress trains run to Sheremetyevo from the Belorussky terminal and to Vnukovo from the Kievsky terminal.

Trains

The Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky and Kazansky terminals face each other on Komsomolskaya Square.

Buy a Troika card for the Metro, buses and trams.

Our advice: allow extra time in the Metro at rush hour.
